Training from Lakeland
About 20 minutes east of Lakeland on Highway 540 / Cypress Gardens Blvd.
Lakeland is the biggest city in Polk County, and it has plenty of gyms — but very few mats where a Judo black belt and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt are both coaching the same week. That is why families from Dixieland, Lake Hollingsworth, South Lakeland and the Grasslands area make the short drive east to Winter Haven.
Most Lakeland students come to us for one of three reasons: a child who needs confidence and a way to burn energy, an adult who wants to get in shape without running on a treadmill, or a competitor who wants real Judo throws added to their ground game. All three train on the same mat, in the same room, with the same coaches.
- Adult Jiu-Jitsu runs at 6:45 PM Monday through Friday, an easy drive after work
- Kids classes at 5:00 PM and 5:45 PM leave room for the drive from Lakeland after school
- Homeschool classes run mid-morning, before the afternoon traffic on 540

How long is the drive from Lakeland to your academy?
About 20 minutes door to door using Highway 540 and Cypress Gardens Blvd. Evening classes start at 5:00 PM and 6:45 PM, which works well for the drive after school or after work.
Do you have classes for complete beginners from Lakeland?
Yes. Every program is beginner friendly and your first class is free. You do not need a uniform or any experience to try.
Can Lakeland homeschool families train during the day?
Yes. Homeschool Jiu-Jitsu and Judo run Monday through Thursday at 10:00 AM, and Homeschool Boxing runs Tuesday and Thursday at 11:15 AM.
